Jae (Janet) Towle is a writer and editor wandering between southern Arizona, northern California, and Portland, Oregon. Jae likes to explore the tensions between omniscience and subjectivity, long sentences, and the edges between perspectives. Nonbinary. Collector of blue glass relics. Spoiler of dogs. Known to put too many things on windowsills—but listen, we gotta appreciate that light. They have one novel out on submission & they’re working on another.
Jae is the founding editor of Manzanita Papers, a literary subscription box dedicated to lesser-known but excellent books. Former roles: head editor of Sonora Review, assistant fiction editor at DIAGRAM, and community strategist at Wirecutter.
Represented by Chris Combemale at Sterling Lord Literistic.
